Athena is the trading name of Orchid Labs Ltd, a UK company. We are at the start of a formal ESG programme. We do not hold ISO 14001 or a scored climate rating. We will not display badges we have not earned.

We believe that technology shouldn’t cost the earth, literally. As a digital business, our carbon footprint sits in our servers, our devices, and our daily operations [athenarisk.co.uk]. This is why supply chain is vitally important, because it can impact on us and on the environment.

  • Measure hosting, devices, and essential travel
  • Publish our public-site score from websitecarbon.com and keep it under review
  • Our digital footprint is very low, estimated at .5-1 tonne of CO2 per year
  • A portion of our transactional income is contributed to Stripe Climate to fund carbon projects
  • Prefer suppliers who publish their own climate position, such as ionos, WHUK and Fasthosts with 100% green energy and who actively publish their progress.
  • Home / small-office working; avoid unnecessary travel
  • UK company, accountable directors, ICO-ready privacy pages
  • One board-level note each year on what actually changed
